retrieve deleted messages

is there a way to retrieve a delted message? we have octel 250

we were in the middle of migrating to modular messaging so we started transfering the mailboxes from the octel to the new system, well someting went wrong in the finacing so we had to move back to the octel. well when we did, the people who deleted thier VM along time ago were comming back to thier VM as new, so they were still stored somewhere on the system even when it was deleted by user.

Not unless you have a tape backup of the Octel and you can only do a whole system restore not a per mailbox one. If they had messages then why can't they be sent back to the Octel the same way they were sent to the MM? It should be able to be done.
