I need to move a few GBs of data from one server to a new server. The new server will have completely different volume names than the old server. The users of the data will stay in the same context, but I'm wondering how to get the rights to these files and directories restored. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I am familiar with Tbackup, but not Tcopy. What's the difference?

Barry

Er ...

TCOPY allows you to copy your rights and trustees from one directory structure to another

TBACKUP allows you to backup your rights and trustees to a file, which can then be restored if necessary.
