Thanx for taking the time to look at this problem.

I need to import a number for doc's and folder into SharePoint 2007. We need
to retain the original created date of these documents from our file system.

I have done some looking around and can't see a solution as yet. I did find
a blog referring to the same problem at

Any help is appreciated
Kevin

i dont think that's possible since the files are being recreated in the portal's database and not just moved.

It is as wolvie says not possible out of the box. I know that it can be solved by custom code and that you can create for example a column namned original date in sharepoint and with custom code have the actual file creation date visible in that column.

This has been an issue with some of our site owners and I know that one division within our company developed this kind of code (I'll see if I can find exactly what they did).

Cheers,
Thomas
