Hi,

When using remote desktop to connect to a Windows 200 server, is there a way to resume the console session just like WXP? By default, Windows 2000 server opens a new session, but I want to connect to the the session that I opened already with everything opened.

I tried adding the value something like "console=1" in the remote desktop profile but didn't work. Any idea that would make it work?

Thanks in advance to all the experts.

WhoKilledKenny,

I'll install it on my WXP at home and try to connect to my work computer and hope this will solve my problem.

Thanks

One difference between XP and 2000 is that XP only allows a single remote desktop connection at a time, so it should always reconnect you to the same session. Windows 2000 (when it's running Terminal Services in Remote Administration mode) will allow 2 terminal sessions, so depending on the circumstances you may not get the same session when you connect again. Usually if the old session is still logged on AND you're logging on with the same username and password then it would connect you to that same session.
