I have configured an on-demand scan task through the ePO 3.5 console. The logs on the client computer show that the task has been performed. However, looking at the virusscan console, the on-demand scan is listed as unscheduled. Should the parameters of my created task show up in the client's virusscan console?

Also, I want to confirm that the exclusions are not being scanned. The logs only give a number of non-scanned files and I don't think that is correct. Where can I see exactly what was and what wasn't scanned?

Thanks in advance!

Hey rokbar

I've noticed on our setup here (VS 4.51 SP1 w/ ePO 3.0.2a) that the VS Console Tasks are completely independent of the ePO task and will both execute if both scheduled. If the VS Console task is not scheduled, then it will not run (obviously). ePO does not enter its settings into the VS Console side of it. It's almost like it's independent. This was the same with ePO 2.5.

This was tested with Autoupdate tasks on NT/2000/XP boxes with VS 4.5.0 and 4.5.1SP1.

I suspect that it'd be a similar situation with the On Demand Scan tasks.

Hope that helps.
Cheers
Feng
