Hello,
I got a customer who has a CICS with 4.2 Software. One set which is 21 has no restrictions assigned to it. The other 6 sets have Restriction Filter 01 assigned to them. The customer wants to add some overrides to these sets so employees can make calls to a few area codes. I went to Terminals & Sets to the first DN and went to Restrictions and to Filter 01 and added the overrides that they wanted. When I test the sets and try to dial the overrides I get Restricted call on the display. I did do a copy to the other sets also. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dmac,

Exactly how did you add the overrides and what are they? For instance if you want to override area code 813 and to make the call they would dial 1813 then you would go into restriction filter 01, restriction 01, show it. The overrides 1888, 1877, 1800 should be there, you would ADD 1813.
Is this something like what you did? If you have 10 digit dialing and don't have to dial the 1 then you would add the override differently. MRoberts

mroberts,
I went to Filter 01 and went to where it said Deny: hit next and the display said Overrides. With Add and remove below on the soft keys. With the display showing Override 01: I hit add and added for example 1619.Add Override 02 1735. Then Override 03 I added another 1 and the area code.
Thanks,
Dmac,

Okay, but under which restriction was the deny? Try this:

Terminals&Sets - Show
Show set: ___ - Enter ext number
223:223 - Show
Line access - Next until
Restrictions - Show
Restrn filters - Show
Show filter:__ - next, next
Restrn flt 01 - Show
Restrn 01: 0 - This is the first restriction under filter 01. You do not want to put your overrides here. Press Next.
Restrn 02:1 - This restricts everything beginning with 1. Here is where you want to put your overrides. Press Show
Deny: - Next
Override 001: 18... - This is the first override under restriction 02 under filter 01. Press show to see the rest of the number.
Press ADD - add the other overrides you require.

Don't forget to go back to wherever you possibly put the overrides first and remove them. MRoberts

Dont forget to add the * to the restricions , if you do a *67 before you dial a restricted # you override the restricions because you have already contacted the co and the co has presented you back with dial tone that doesn"t go thro the filters.

Thanks for the help from everyone,
I'll try what you have given me mroberts. I think I added them to the first restriction. I didn't go deep enough into the programming.
Dmac,
