I have a customer with a DR5 8x24 with a phone in the warehouse they want to restrict. On the 0x32 5.0 I have set phones up in the past to enter a feature code and then the password to make an out bound call.

Does the 8x24 DR5 have that ability to restrict the phone based on entering and code & how do I program it.

Also does it just have the ability to restrict calls based on long distance, local or internal?

Any help would be great!

I recently set this up. I used filter 7 and restricted any 9+1 calls (centrex lines) Then because we are in Chicago and you need to dial an area code even to the house next door, so i put in exceptions for the area codes. Exceptions: 91847, 91312, 91800 91888, and so on. Then I set the ext's that needed the restriction to use that filter.

Yes, on the DR5 system, go into GENERAL ADMIN., then item 5 CAPABILITIES, then DIALING FILTERS. They set up completely different than the 0x32 programming, but you will see that and understand it once you are in there. On the older systems, the * (star) acts like an (any) number.

Once you have your restriction filters set up, while still in CAPABILITIES, go on down to COS PASSWORDS. Here you can set up the passwords, user filter etc.
