Restricting all but internal and 911 calls - MICS 6.1

Can anyone confirm restriction and overrides for a filter to only allow internal and 911 calls from a phone set. We want to restrict calls from a shop floor so calls cannot be placed off site - except 911.

I'm using filter 05 and think it should be:

restrict: 9A
override: 9911

Is that correct?

You only need to restrict what is actually dialed out to the
phone company. You do not need to include any access codes
or destination codes. So your entry would be correct if you
are using Centrex lines. If you are not using Centrex lines
you should remove the leading 9's in your restriction and
override entrys.

On a set filter, this will allow only internal and 911 calls. Correct?

that is correct the person would dial 9 (or line button) to get an outside line

any digit dialed will be blocked except 911

just as a note : i don't know about your location but around hear we can dial *67 to block caller id , then get dial tone back , this in effect bypasses your restriction,

so you might want to test it ,i know on some software's the * is not blocked when the restriction has the any digit in the filter

Sounds like a good idea to add a restriction for *67 to that filter. Can't hurt. Thanks for the heads up!

If you can't block the star, the telco should be able to. (You may have to beg and plead a little, but it can be done.)
