I'm new to the Nortel world and I'm wondering if there is an easy way of restricting an extension from calling another internal extension on an Option 61.
no.. very complex, multi tenant service, but if you have the package you can give the called party a 5 or 6 digit exten. and don't publish it. strange request, what are you trying to block?... had a president of a place want zero ringing lines on his phone, only his PA could call him. guest phones have been configured to auto dial 9, so only local calls to the co trunks were allowed.. johnP
our employees use phones to clock in and out of our Time & Attendance system and I have employees using common area phones to clock in so they won't be late. Thanks for your comments
change the number and make your phone hot d 4 to the correct extension. i have used a analog ext as a cot to do this or a ms in mail with a 10 digit password that was auto dialed from a speed dail that could only be accessed by one phone.. it's do-able, but not unless you want to stretch a little.. johnP (i'll check this post if i can be of any help) johnP
johnP,
thanks, you're talking about hotlining the extension? if so I did think of that, this particular phone is used for other internal and external calls.
tenent service was my next choice, which will work but takes a little longer to set up. ten to ten. allow or deny can stop calls from the plant to kings row being made, while allowing calls in the other direction. i would make each phone a single use set, and stop all the headache over a personal problem. fire people who cheat. do a int cdr, match call times with clock in times, send then home...johnP
How about a pretranslation list that restricts a digit but pass's all others, then assign an extension starting with that digit to the King's phone. Not easy since you still have to assign the table to all other phones.
I'm new to Tek-Tips and hope you can help me. I am the education coordinator for a Nortel user's group and would like to find a CallPilot power user to teach a class for us or a company that does it. I tried to set one up with GlobalKnowledge but they will only teach 4.0 and from what the members tell me no one has 4.0. Can anyone help me out?
check nortel for a list of recogmended vendors, 90 percent of them offer that type of service. are you looking for end user training or install/maint level stuff. the enduser for 3.0 is very close to 4.0.. i do know bellsouth, sprint and verizon all have service consultants that do training
