Is there a way to restrict viewing/maintenance of a location within a company by user? In this example we have four locations within our company, 00,02,17,&31. We want to setup a user with rights to work in location 31 while preventing access to the other locations. Thanks.

Progression or ES?
Pervasive or MS SQL?
Version?

Where is it done? I've checked user maintenance and can't seem to find anywhere to specify location access.

Please elaborate - do you not want to allow any reporting or viewing of inventory by location for certain users? Or not allow people to enter orders? Or both? Please provide more details.

Essentially we'd like to limit everything in the OE module to one location for one particular user. I've been able to restrict everything else through screen manipulations.

Sorry, when you referenced companys 00,02,17,&31, was taking it to be different Db's

I need some real definitions as to what exactly "everything in OE" really means. What about reports and views? For instance the cobol reports and views such as multi level item view will ALWAYS have these other locations included on them and always will unless you modify the source code, which I am assuming is not a viable option.

So if they need reports and views this is a real problem. You might be able to use Flexibility to simulate views without certain locations, likewise you could write custom crystal reports to limit reports to certain locations and hang them on a macola menu, but this would be a huge project.

Maybe you can give a few specific examples instead of saying "everything in OE"?

I had intended to include reports and views but your idea about creating custom Crystal Reports will work just as well. The biggest concerns are entering sales orders, selecting for billing, anything transactionally based.

DO you own Flexibility? This would help, If the order they tried to transact on was one of the "wrong" locations for that user, you could just reject them out of that order with a little pop up screen "invalid location for user ABC",
