Hi Folks,

I have a number of colour inkjets on the network that are costing an arm and a leg to run as users are abusing the machines.

Is there a way within windows 2000 server or XP to restrict how many colour pages a user can have before being blocked? Or alternatively, is there any software out there to do what I require? I've been searching for a while this morning but have not found anything.

Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Pete

Yep there is a package called Print Manager Plus. Was already in place when I joined the school where I work but I think its still around and has lots of tracking features and you can even do billing to depts etc if you want.

With this you can allow a number of pages to users on a per day basis to seperate printers as well.

I use this at the school to stop students printing loads of stuff.

They get 15 pages per day (this can be any figure you like). You can allocate a higher once off allowance for users if necessary
