I have a situation that is giving me more trouble than I thought. We need to restrict 411 usage to everybody except IS, Managers & VP's, and the problem is Supervisors are also in the same COR as the managers. Our CORs are as follows:
5 is for regular users, 6 is for supervisors & managers (can service observe COR 5), and 7 is for HR, IS, and VP's.

I was thinking authorization codes, but im not sure if that is going to work. Setting up a new Partition Table is out of the question..

Anybody doing something like this? We haven't used Auth codes before - but now have a need to start restricting access for management & above..and I know denying 411 in ARS will block ALL 411 calls regardless of Auth code - where should I block the number 411 until the Auth code is entered?

Thanks

Why not just remove the managers and give them their own COR?

I thought about that, but didn't want to create a mess with out-of-order COR/FRL assignments. I could use COR 4, and give it the same FRL as the VP/IS group - but where would i then restrict the 411 access from COR 6 and COR 5 - but not COR 4?
I think the FRL is whats confusing me here..and im leary about assigning FRL 6 to a COR of 4 etc.. Up till now - they all match.

Hi
What do you think about to use TOLL table: change toll 411 and make it RCL (restricted call list) but don't forget to enable to call this number from your VIPs by insert x into some field of Unrestricted call List. Then correct all CORs as you want.

Thanks for the input guys - i figured it out. Im using authorization codes pointing to an unused COR with an FRL of 7. Then i changed my ARS for 411 to use a new route-pattern pointing to the COR i assigned.

..Problem solved - and it works perfect!
;)

Thanks again!

Need this to be set up on my system too for internal phones so that they cant make long distance calls using 411. Can ya give me some instructions on how to set it up. My cor is setup not like yours but just where its able to dial it.

Cor 30= 911/internal
Cor 31= Internal/Local
Cor 32= United States
Cor 33= Carribean/ Hawaii/ United States
Cor 34= International
Cor 36= Full Time United States
Cor 37= Full Time International

I want to restrict the people with Cor 31 and lower to be not able to use 411. How would I change my cor or ars. Any help or suggestion is appreciated.

There's more than one way to do it, but what I did was use the Cor & FRL assignments to restrict users. If you dont want to use authorization codes, you can assign cor 32 and above an FRL level higher than that of the Cor 31 & below.

I created a new route-pattern, and a new COR. I assigned 411 the new route-pattern in my ARS, and gave the new COR access only to 411.

Again im not sure how you want to accomplish this - there's more than one way..but you'll need to examine your COR numbers, FRL assigned to the COR, and your Route-Pattern's FRL assignments to the number 411 in your ARS tables.

Let us know if you need more help..if possible, find out what FRL 411's route-pattern is using, and what the CORs FRL's are for CORs 32 and above.
