I have a production Oracle server and how I back up is:
1) Break the mirror in Server A
2) mount the mirrored copy to server B
3) Backup server B

I now have an offsite DR Oracle server.

Is there anyway I can restore the tape (or at least the DB) to the offsite DR Oracle server without purchasing another Netbackup? It is just too expensive to restore over the internet or purchasing another netbackup server in my DR site.

I am open to suggestions on changing my method of backup (but no budget for an oracle agent)

Hi, does your resulting Oracle DB on server B actually work, ie have you tested end-to-end ?; the reason i ask is we use Veritas Flashsnap for making copies of our Oracle DB's (break's the mirror, copies the data to B, then resyncs mirror). Lately we have been having (Oracle-related) problems bringing the DB up so have to revert to RMAN restores from tape..
