Has anyone tried restoring Unity 4? When I do the restore everything seems to be ok except greetings. It does not restore greetings even though greetings .wav files are inside Stream Files folder. Any ideas? Thanks.
DiRT is not Backup software. The name is Disaster Recovery Tool. It is a tool for down and dirty recovery of a dead system. You need to use like a Veritas or something that is Exchange friendly. Then you can get all the greetings and V-Mail's for restoring.
I'm not trying to restore mailboxes or voicemails. Only the config, SQL data, and greetings which are not stored in Exchange. According to cisco DIRT is the only tool to restore Unity config. And you with DIRT you can restore very much alive fully configured Unity. It is undocumented feature. I'm doing the restore on the test box that's why I don't contact TAC.
Sorry, misunderstood what you were trying to do.
DiRT should keep the greetings per the documentation I read. Did you get any error messages when you originally did your recovery file?? Might try posting on answermonkey.net for more info.
Posted the q on cisco forum. thanks for the link. The problem was with the way XP is copying files on CD. It truncates very long file names. That was it.
