Has anyone out there tried to restore to WIN98 from a WIN2K bkup?
1. Is it possible?
2. Are there any querks to know about?

What do you mean? Can you explain a bit more please.

Eg, have you backed up a win98 insstallation from win2k, using 2k's backup utility? Do you want to uninstall 2k from an upgraded win98 installation? Something completely different?

I backed up files using the Win2k backup utility and want to take that backup file and try to restore it to a machine with WIN98. IS THIS POSSIBLE? Thanks

Not without a win2k installation, I don't think (you need 2k to access the backup file - I've not heard of anything that runs in 98 that can do this). But, presumably you could restore the files on a 2k machine and then copy them to 98 (CD writer, network connection, put 98 drive in 2k machine?)
