Hi everyone, just wondering if its possible to restore a back up of a server to a blank/dummy virtual server,

anyone know of/ use any product to convert from physical to virtual, any trials available ??

thanks in advance

backup exec system recovery 7.0 will convert your image to a virtual hard drive file. Either vmdk or vhd. Vmware or virtual server

VMware Converter... free, fast, easy.

We've done production servers with out users ever noticing a difference. I guess it depends on your environment, but we use an ESX server.

If this is the case of moving VMDK's around, you should be able to just restore the vmdk to the server and should see that file.
