We are using Legato Networker with RMAN in an IBM AIX server. What we want to do is to restore a backup set from one IBM RS/6000 machine into another RS/6000 server. We have tested restoring the backup set into the same machine and it works fine, but it was not possible to restore the same backup set in a new machine. We were applying all instructions appeared in technical manuals but they failed. Have anyone there any suggestions to solve this problem?
Thanks!!!! [sig][/sig]

Yes, I have done this and it was a little complex. Read the Oracle RMAN guide and Legato guide (nmoag.pdf). Basically, you need to add *@<your_other_server> to the access list on the original client, also you need to have the same SID. Setting up symlinks so that files appear in the same locations also helps.
