Restoring logical logs from disk files

I back up my logical logs (on the Primary server) onto disk files on an hourly basis. I'm currently using HDR and I switched off the Secondary for a day. Normal transactions were still being done on the Primary. When I restarted the Secondary, it went into Fast Recovery(Sec) mode and prompted me to Start Recovery failure from tape. I started to restore the individual log files by copying the logyymmddhhss.bck to log.bck (my defined LTAPEDEV device). I used ontape -l and it stated that Roll forward should start with log number XXXXX and asked me if I want to put another tape. When I pressed enter to start restore, it just asked me if I want to put another tape (apparently tape 2 now). With the same log.bck file, it then gave me an error message stating that Log Restore failed - and that Recovery is already in progress.

I restarted the whole process above (after confirming that I'm really restoring the log file backup with the right log number XXXXX). It's giving me the same message!

I still have more than 24 log files on disk to restore before HDR begins again (and I can't even restore the first one).

How do you properly restore the logical logs from disk files (especially in an HDR scenario)?
Thanks for any help.
