Restoring IOS to a Switch?

I've been assigned the task of restoring a Cisco 3524-xl-en switch. I power up the unit but can't get any prompt. How do I begin?
help!!

Well I guess first off are you connecting to the console port? Correct comm port and settings...9600-N-8-None. It is possible that the console port speed has been changed so you may need to try ohter speed settings.
