I backup up my sql databases using Arcserve and the sql agent. However i need to restore one of the database to a location different to the one it is in at the moment. Whenever I submit the job to do this I get a message stating that I have not entered a valid location.

Can anyone help?

Kind regards

To restore the database to a different machine, you must use the destination tab in the Restore Manager to browse to the SQL agent on a different machine. You cannot just type in a new location in the text box; you must browse to the agent.

If you want to restore the database to the machine where it originated, but change the location of the files, right click on the database in the Restore Manager and select Restore options. Modify the paths for each data and log file appropriately.
