Hi guys, i just want to know if restoring the incremental backups are the same as restoring the full backup?

and also, how can i know if my tapes are already full?

Questions might be too silly, but thanks for some advice.

To restore an incremental backup you need the last full and all the incremental tapes since the last full job.

To restore the full backup you need only the last full tape.

To know if your tape is full there is an entry in the job log. You can read here "Media Remaining Capacity:xxxx MB

thanks for that sir Fabio, by the way, is restoring incremental backup on document level, the same as restoring an incremental ordinary file?

yes, it's the same.
From the point of view of the backup software a word document, a dll or a movie it's the same thing.
The object will be recovered at the date of the backup.

and oh, btw sir Fabio, you said i can see the remainig space in my tape through the job log?

I looked at the job log sir, and the only size indication there are

total size ( disk )
total size ( media ) - is this the size of the file that i

backup?

In the activity log of the job:

---------------------------------------------
Information 10/22/2009 08:15:34 PM 15015 Media Compression Ratio : 4.25

Information 10/22/2009 08:15:34 PM 15015 Media Remaining Capacity : 388,936 MB
----------------------------------------------

Maybe a different version of the program ? I use 11.5sp4 build 4490

ohh.. i am using r12 sp2 sir Fabio.
