What's the best way to restore / improve memory on a disk other than deleting a program?
 
Capacity? if you don't want to delete anything then the only thing you can do is a defragmentation.
But that won't get you back drive capacity.

Personally I would just add another drive as slave to your master or better still, buy an external hard drive.

with w2k/xp on ntfs u can also use file-compression. right-click file/folder, choose properties=>advanced, make a hook on compress files
