After allocating additional space for my NetBackup (4.5 MP3) images on a separate partition I am looking for a way to reinstall NetBackup and point the images to the new install of NB. Can reinstall NetBackup on another partition and copy the images, or do I need to restore them somehow? I have used the bprecover command before, but don’t see an option for restoring to an alternative location.
Have anyone ever faced this scenario..? Thanks!

W,

I've done this more times than I care to remember.
mv openv to openv.old (that way you'll have the
old stuff if needed). Then make an openv directory
on your new partition and link to it from /usr (i.e.
from /usr, ln -s /yadayada/newpartition/openv .
When you re-install, the script will say 'there's
already a link.....' or some such thing. Tell it
that it's ok to use it.

Then do your bprestore.

HTH,

Gregg

ps. I've also found it pretty valuable to put the
images on a separate partition/disk, and make /usr/openv/netbackup/db/images a link to it.
