Hi all,
I created a backup tape using the make_recovery_tape command. We had a power surge/brown out and I lost half of the OS. I didnt have much loaded on the system since it was a new install. I created volume groups, loaded the ANSI/C compiler and installed jet direct.
How do I restore from this type of backup? I dont have any other backup tapes since it was a new install. I'm trying to avoid reloading the whole thing again. Oh..I'm running HPUX 11i.

Thanks for any info.

Get machine to pdc and search for bootable devices.
Choose to boot off tape
Depending if you created the tape with the -i option it might go into interactive mode which is just like the install off cd, where you can change filesyste, layout etc, if so just tell it to continue.
If not, it will automatically run through.

Job done ...

Martin
