Hi. This is my first post.
Here is my situation:
We have some older backup tapes that date back to 2004. I was asked to look through one of them but am having a hard time.
We currently are using a newer tape drive on the backup server. This newer tape drive cannot read the older tapes.
The server itself has been in use the whole time but after a certain amount of time we stopped using the older tape drive (HP SureStore DLT80) as it couldn't fit all of our data on one tape.
We now use an HP StorageWorks Ultrium 448 tape drive.
So, I installed the backup software on a local machine temporarily along with the SureStore DLT80 tape drive.
The software installed is BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5 SP3 (Build 4402).
The tape drive is recognized by the ARCserve software no problem.
The tape inside of the drive is recognized by the software no problem and we can even backup new info onto the tape. It will put the new data onto a later session which leads me to believe that both, the software and the computer, can read the contents of the tape.
But how can I browse the contents of the tape? I tried using the restore wizard. It shows the tape name but won't let me tick the check box next to it so I can proceed to the next page.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you used the Merge function to add the database to Arcserve? Once you have done this you should be able to view the session status and query the database for specific files/folders.
