Hello all,
I am attempting to restore one of my Exchange 2K Information stores to an alternate server to recover the contents of a mailbox. (No Brick Level available.) I have followed the Microsoft White Papers regarding Exchange Restores to the letter, including making sure the legacyExchangeDN attribute is correct.
However, I am having troubles getting ArcServe to restore the store I select to the new server. I think that the problem lies in the fact that I can not see the stores that are already on that server when browsing in the ArcServe Manager program, even under Backup. I configured the agent and it appears to be correct, no errors were given.
The ArcServe server is on a different machine and since I needed create a new AD forest for the recovery machine, I instituted a two-way trust between domains. But still all that displays is the "Microsoft Exchange Information Store" object and I can not browse below that level. I can browse to individual mailboxes under the Brick Level object.
Can someone tell me what I may have done wrong? If I could restore the Store but can start it I would think I did something wrong with my install of exchange but I can not even restore the store. Thanks.

Len

In order to restore Exchange 2000 to an alternate location you must know the following:
· The Exchange 2000 organization name must be the same
· The name of the administrative group to which the database belongs must be the same
· The name of the storage group to which the database belongs must be the same
· The logical database name itself must be the same
· The legacyExchangeDN value for the administrative group object that the database currently belongs to needs to be the same.
· Case sensitivity for all applicable attributes
All requirements, except for legacyExchangeDN value, can be changed via the Exchange System Manager. The document that explains steps in details can be found in the following URL:

Thanks. I have already checked to make sure that all of the above have been taken care of. I just don't know whay I can't browse that Exchange Org in ArcServe Manager. I'm fairly certain that that is a root cause of my problem.
