I'm trying, and have been trying for days, to recover an Exchange 2000 backup. We had big SBS 2000 problems, and just wiped the server *after backups* and installed a new copy of SBS2003.

I went to recover the edb.bkf file, made with MS Backup (NTBackup). It contains just the exchange stuff. Not the databases but the info stores it would seem. Now i'm trying to recover it to the Exchange 2003 system, IF POSSIBLE.

It's crucial that we get this email back, due to our line of work (law), we need access to all archives and mailboxes etc. I've tried another forum (which you have to pay for! before i stumbled across this for the first time in years), but to no avail.

Currently trying the free version of BKFRecovery, it just crashed on me.. grrr. will try and at least get the thing read!

It's about 900mb..

Please help!
