We have just implemented Crystal Enterprise 10. I am looking to see how others deal with the restoration process when a users deletes a report or folder from the system. Since CE has it's own naming structure for reports and folders it does not seem possible to restore a particular file from a tape backup without restoring the whole system to a test server and grabbing the file from there.

I'm really looking to see if there is an agent similar to the Veritas Backup Exec for Sharepoint etc or another method I'm overlooking.

Thanks.

I don't know of any tool for recovereing specific OBJECTS within the environment.

We manage this by limiting the user ability to delete OBJECTS, and only allowing them to delete INSTANCES.

If they want to have an OBJECT (Folder or RPT) removed, we have a "Power User" do it.

MJRBIM,

Thanks for your suggestion. It makes sense to me. It does seem that some sort of agent would be nice however.
