Hello

I need some advice on restoring the Default Domain Controller Policy. I've read how to restore the policy with 'dcgpofix' as it was after the dcpromo finished, but I'd like some ideas as to what to expect from my senario.

The policy has been renamed and unlinked. Not sure why as I've inherrited this issue - really, I have. If I run dcgpofix and restore the policy, what happens to the existing renamed policy as it still has the default UID?

I'm expecting it to 'overwrite' what is currently in place!! I'll play with a VM, but wondered if anyone else has had experience of this?

Thanks

Why don't you delete the defunct policy and allow the tool to give you a fresh new one?

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
