Question we have 2 X 9.1gb hard disk 1 is for our rootvg and the other is for datavg we are running out of disk space so we decided to replace the existing 9.1 hard disk with a 18.2gb disk.

I know in rootvg we can change the pp and lp by issuing the mkszfile .. and edit the image.data .. and mksysb the system then restore in the new disk ..

How about in our datavg can we also use the mkszfile to change pp/lp of the filesystems in datavg?

Our just backup datavg in the 9.1gb disk and restor it as is in the new disk ?

Thanks in advance and good day ....

Hi,
you do not neet to change mkszfile to restore your rootvg or other group to large size disk.

Regards Boris

So what your are saying is that after backing up the volume groups, We just restore the back up as is and not change any more the image.data ...

Just confirming it just to make sure ...

Thanks again ...
