Hello all,

accidentaly I 've tried to restore the databse over existing one. I tried to stop after some moments, but the database now has Loading satus, and when I checked the folder wher databse was stored - the mdf and ldf files for this database disappeared! Can somebody explain what happened with the database - is completely deleted or what sql server did in this case? If deleted - is it possible somehow to get this database back, because is extremely important and I do not have backup of this database?!?

Regards,
ProBani.

I don't know much about this, but I would suggest you do a google search on 'Undelete file" or "Recover deleted file".

There is software out there that can recover a deleted fiel for you. I haven't used one in years and can't remember the name of it, but it worked pretty good.

Good Luck.

Hi George,

thanks a lot for your answer - I manage to recover with GetDataBack and File Scavenger, but in both cases files has been corrupted both of them mdf and ldf. Becuase I tried through MDF to attach the databse by reseting the status and then with BDCC to rebiuld the log, but Error Message 823 - bad page id is appearing fot data, even with DBCC CHECKDB it doesn't worked.
The only thing that worked was MSSQLRecovery that creates SQL file as scripts and through the batch creates the schema and entries with insert into for each record. But again only half of the data.! Is there a solution to recover corrupted database - Error Message 823 - bad page id, with DBCC CHECKDB( 'database_name' ,REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS ) is saying database should be in single user mode, but I put database in single user again same error.

Can you suggest something?

Rgds,
ProBani.

Do you still have the backup? Restore it, you might lose some data...but you should have the majority of it.
