I have a 2nd virtual server on the same box as my production virtual server. The 2nd "restore" virtual server is running and I through some test sites out there from time to time and do some fwp restores to get items back, etc.
There was a site that had some issues, so I wanted to restore the site and was wondering if the below is possible.
Can I restore a backup of my production content database over the content database of my "restore" virtual server's content database and expect the sites to be viewable via that "restore" virtual server's URL without impacting the sites in production?
I just want to be really careful that doing this will not mess up my production sites. Since there is only one configuration db I was not sure if having 2 content database with the same sites would cause some confusion within Sharepoint.
Anyone have any comments on this method?
