I am upgrading an Option 11E to a Successions 3.0 cabinet and am having trouble importing the old database into the new system. I have downloaded the CCBR file from the old switch via LD 43 using the XBK command. When I upload the database into the 3.0 system using the XRT command it appears to load with no problems, but I can't get the uploaded database to take effect in the PBX. I have tried using the database restore utilities in LD 143 as well with no luck. I'm sure it's some small step I am overlooking.

Yeah, I discovered today what the problem was. I was using the XSL command in LD 143 instead of doing a hard boot of the system. Once I did this, the databse came up.

By the way, do you know how to do a remote backup on a Option 11 on RLS 21. I tried doing an XBK in ld 43 like I did on the RLS 20 switch, but it gives me the invalid command error. There is no LD 143 in that RLS so I am not sure what else I can do.

Thanks

You can only use the "XBK" command from TTY "0" on a cartridge release Option 11. It's best to have the baud rate at 9600. Don't use 19200, as you will get errors.
I would also recomend you to use the "XVR" afterwards to verify your saved file. I have a guide for this process for all Option 11's from V16.90 to Succession. Send me your email, & I'll send it to you.

How did your upgrade go? I'm getting ready to perform the exact same upgrade but Nortel shipped me a backwards compatibale daughterboard PN# NTDK26AA (Option11c to 11e convertor) I don't think I need this. Did they send you one?

If you are upgrading a Option 11 / 11E up to a Succession system via the XRT /XVR process in the cartridge, Then you will have a problem on the Succession system. I didn't fully take note of the original question!.
Don't use the XRT /XVR process in LD 143!. It will appear to load in, but I found that I was getting a message stating "Database corruption" Try & go into the Utilities menu & select option 1.
Go for the 11, 11E file import instead. once the file has been transferred in, I think you have to key in "1" again to copy the file from the backup database into the Main database.
Exit LD 143. Go into LD 43 & check the database status by keying "DAT" . You should see the old software version listed in the Main & Backup storage devices.
Just do a system reboot & hopefully the upgrade will work.
