Restoring a beyondmail mailbox 1

We're using streettalk for nt as our server.
We are trying to restore a mailbox in beyondmail.
Copying messages from network mailbox to local mailbox and received error message that mailbox needed to be rebuilt.
After error message appeared, all the messages in the the local mailbox were deleted.
How do you retrieve the messages (either by rebuilding or by restoring)?

The easiest way may be to restore the mail service to another server "to a service of a different name". Then move the mailbox to your regular server. The messages will be merged with those already in the users mailbox (there my be duplicates)
