Hi There,

I know it is possible to restore a backup taken from a 32 bit machine onto a db2 install on a 64 bit machine, well, at least according to the documentation! But for the life of me I can't get it to work! Any advice welcome!!

Thanks!

What have you tried? What happens?

In which environment are you working? Which release(s?) of db2?

Posting the specifics of the backup along with any/all diagnostic information returned for the failure will get more useful replies than posting "It didn't work".

Yes, you are correct. My bad...

The originating system is Windows XP Pro 32 bit running DB2 v9.1 fixpak 4. The Destination system is Window 7 Pro running DB2 v9.1 fixpak 7

I have tried doing the restore using the GUI as well as the DB2 CLI and both fail with an error message that states that it cannot restore the backup created on a 32 bit O/S on to a 64 bit O/S.

I tried figuring out the db2move facility with no luck.

Hope that helps a bit!!
Thanks!
