Restores using different tape formats

We have a DLT 40/80Gb drive at one site, a 35/70Gb DLT drive at another. Can I restore tapes backed up using the 35/70 drive on the 40/80Gb drive. I know I cannot do it the other way round. I am using Backup EXEC 7.3 on NT4 Server SP4

Each successive build of DLT drives allows larger format tapes to be used.

Any tape that works in a 35/70 should work in a 40/80.
