Restored file missing MSysDB...what does this mean?

I had a file restored from back up by my systems group...
when I try to run it I get the following message...
The Microsoft database engine could not find the object MSysDb. Make sure the object exists and that you spell the name correctly....

Can anyone shed some light here?
