Restored Calendars and Contact problems

We lost one of our exchange 5.5 mail servers (4 mail servers with 1 site)and I am using Veritas V8.6. I recreated the mailbox on another server and restored the mailbox. The contacts and Calendars are messed up. The contacts lost all the email addresses and the calendars jumbled up all the appoinments to one day. What went wrong? How do I restore the calendar to a usable state?
