Before leaving, a member of staff deleted the contents of their mailbox and we require the mail back. The backup strategy at the time was not very good at all but has now been rectified.
The backup only went back about 6 days and Backup Exec was not set up to backup the storage groups, just the contents of the mdbdata folder so skipped the *.edb & *.stm files. Its about 3 weeks later and we've managed (by a stroke of luck) to find a tape that for some strange reason wasn't used in our backup strategy for about a month. It has log files that were before the person deleted their mail from but obviously not the database files themselves.
So, we have the log files, is there any way that we can lift all the messages out of these log files or replay the logfiles somehow without database/logfile signature mismatches etc?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Nick
