GroupWise 6.5 on Novell 5.1.
One user appears to have lost the contents of her document management folders.
The files is still there, but they don't show in her folders.

If I can identify the user's GroupWise files on the backup tape, I could restore them from an earlier good backup, but I don't want to restore everyone back to a previous time.

Anyone have any ideas?

The GroupWise Database, overall, is made up of 100's of thousands of files. It's impossible to pull individual files back for one person. Furthermore, in many cases, one file has pointers for multiple people. It's not one-to-one.

What are the chances that rebuilding the User's database might help?

if's it 6.5
setup a restore area
restore postie back to it

user goes into backup and there you go

restoring individs user db will just give you pointers

you never restore everything back to the life unless you have had a disaster
