I'm running Exchange 5.5 on a NT 4 SP6A box, a user managed to delete an important access database from the public folders. I back up the info stores every night w/NT b/u on an DDS4 drive. Is there anyway I can restore this file?

I have restored public folders before, but I used another "backup/recovery" server to do it. You need to setup NT and Exchange on a new box (doesn't need to be same name). When you install Exchange, choose to "create a new site". Then you can restore the information store and export the public folder information to a pst file and import it back into the public folder.

There is a white paper on how to restore folders in Exchange somewhere on Technet. Sorry I don't the Article number or URL.

Hope this helps.
