Today I had to replace a ACS 8.0 that had been in service for about 10 months..Green lights on but totally dead unit...
I allways install a backup card when placing a new system into service so this time it paid off.
My question is this..
I had a brand new 8.0 on hand for replacement.
I installed the backup card in the new system and then powered the ACS up for the very first time.
I expected to have to do a RESTORE # 125 to dump everything from the card into the system but much to my suprise the system came up fully loaded from the backup card..
No # 125 necessary.
I never had this happen before..Is this normal for the 8.0 or is this something that has always been, and I just never realized it was there.
Many thanks for any input

the reason for that is that the earlier R7's lost the programming from time to time after a power outage and they "fixed" it by telling the system to look for a backup and if there is one to restore it on power up.
This behavior started I think on the R7 91 J if I remember correctly and they took that into the R8.
