restore problems

I recently backed up my note book with MSbackup for Win 98. When I try to restore, it sees disk 1-3 then tells me disk 4 is not the next disk in the set. I know it is the right disk. Is there a way around this and if not is there a way to restore the remaining disks as I need the data on the remaining disks. I have checked the disk for damage etc using scandisk, it seems to be fine. Is there some file utility which can uncompress selected files from the qic. fle format .
