Am using BAckup exec Ver 9. I tried to restore from a backup tape. I get an unable to attach to one of the drives error. from my research the most probable cause is a resource crediential problem. I have tried several accounts but none work. Could be a password has changed since the backup was made. Is there a way to determine even which account was used to do the backup? Conversly is there a way overide what ever restrictions are on the backup to effect a restore. I have full administrator privileges for this domain. A few people have been involved in setting up backup jobs in the past but unfortunatly they are gone.

Thanks
Keith

You don't need domain admin rights, you need backup operator rights. What is exact error?

Here is the Symantec document on the error. It is confusing. They refer to making sure the password matches th password on the resource to be restored. But no details on how to determine what that password is or was.
