Having MAJOR trouble restoring a database from tape.

Windows NT4 sp6a. SQL 6.5 sp5. BE 7.3 build 2575.
Backing up using Backup method: DATABASE - Back UP Entire Database. When I try and do a restore of the production database (Thankfully this is a disaster recovery test) the restore job fails unless I manually recreate the tables first. Surely this is not a requirement ??! Some of our databases have more that 300 tables. Also even when I do manage a restore by this method any stored proceedures, views and triggers are not restored. Any ideas ??

Cheers,

Griff.
