Restore of mksysb from C10 to F50 problems.

Hi All,

I'm hoping someone out there can help out.

I am trying to transfer data from:

C10 - Micro Channel Hardware to
F50 - PCI Hardware.

I have booted from the O.S c.d so that when the restore takes place all the required device drivers are loaded from the c.d rather than the mksysb.

The mksysb restores but the console doesn't work and looking a bit further the devices start with 00- instead of 04-.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

first thought:

Once you've got the mksysb done, boot again from the cd, go into maintenance mode and work on the system - varyon the rootvg and mount the / filesystem. Use smitty to set the console up properly (it's probably set up to be a device that no longer exists). Reboot.
