Restore of Excel Spreadsheet

Before I forget, you all do a great job of sharing information. Hopefully, one day, I can help someone.

My question. I am attempting a restore of an Excel spreadsheet and when I look at it, it is garbled. (The spreadsheet is compressed). I am using BE 8.6 v3878 on a Windows 4.0 NT environment.

Do you mean the file (*.xls) is compressed? Or is the actual spreadsheet appearing 'compressed' when you open it?
