Restore Help Please

Hi,
I need to restore a file from an ibm ultrium backup tape(size 100GB), but before I do something silly please someone advise me of the safe way so I do not overwrite rest of it. The backup was created on the tape by using following command from the / directory:-

find . -print | backup -ivf /dev/rmt1

An example below showing the file rc.local being restored from tape:

restore -xdvqf /dev/rmt0 /etc/rc.local

For additional information do a man restore.
