I cannot specify what I need to restore because BUExec cannot see the tape even though its in the drive. I have tried two different tapes. I use 5 tapes to backup every weekday, all of which are succesful.

Any Ideas?

Your problem is that you must first insert the tape. Then select the tape drive and right click on it. A menu will appear, select to inventory the tape. This will run as a job. Check and see if the tape shows up in the restore availability section. If not you will need to catalog the tape next. If after you catalog the tape you are unable to select it for restore, I think your having some serious problems with your data. I would check the logs to be sure that your backups are successful

OK I was able to Inventory and Catalog the media, but I still can't restore anything. The Catalogs finish succesfully. The backups are succesful. Is this bad?

When you catalog a tape - you need to make sure the fields are expanded on the screen in order to select what you want to restore.

Thats the whole problem; I can't expand it. There is no '+' to the left of it, and double clicking it doesn't do anything. Whats going on???
