anyone know how i would restore a folder from tape using arcserve

i,ve been doing diffs monday to thurs and full on friday and lost data from last wednesday

so would i need the last full and lastest diff (last tuesdays)

where i,m baffled is that if you have a full and diff how do you get one folder back from 2 tapes?

baffled

anyone in the know or know of any good links to understanding this lads

cheers for any help

Hi

Haven't used arcserve but, to restore one folder can't you just select the last successful diff & restore that, usually that will restore the whole folder to the state it was in before you had to do the restore as the arcserve db should know what needs to be restored.

The idea with Fulls & Diffs is usually mainly for full system restores so that you would need less tapes & time to achieve the full system restore in comparison to the incremental way.

don,t honestly know but will try it and see what happens

a big thankyou for your quick reply

cheers again my frien for helping

all the best
